Dear TOTE Maritime Alaska Customers,  

TOTE Maritime Alaska has filed a General Rate Increase (GRI) of 7.5% to be effective Sunday, November 10, 2024. This rate action was filed with the United States Surface Transportation Board in Washington, D.C.  

The GRI filing applies to STB TOTE tariffs 101-A, 202-B, 501-A, and 601-A. This filing does not apply to STB TOTE 701-A, household goods.  Additionally, the GRI filing does not apply to STB TOTE 101-A, Item 695, Port of Alaska Modernization Surcharge. Item 695 will be adjusted after the Port of Alaska announces their assessment for calendar-year 2025.

A partial list of exceptions to this filing includes the following:

Item 940, Terminal Charge

Northbound

• Dry and Refrigerated Cargo will increase $18 per booking
• Vehicles, Roll-On/Off Cargo will increase $4 per booking

Southbound

• Dry and Refrigerated Cargo will increase $6 per booking
• Vehicles, Roll-On/Off Cargo will increase $2 per booking

Item 760, Port Charge

Northbound

• All trailer/container/flatbed lengths will increase $41 per booking
• Vehicles, Roll-On/Off Cargo as listed will increase $15 per booking

Southbound

• All trailer/container/flatbed lengths will increase $23 per booking
• Vehicles, Roll-On/Off Cargo as listed will increase $12 per booking

Items 340 and 341, Arbitraries in the Lower-48 States

• All origins and destinations will increase by 6% unless further exception is taken (please refer to STB TOTE Tariff 101-A)

Item 342, Arbitraries in Alaska

• All origins and destinations will increase by 8% unless further exception is taken (please refer to STB TOTE Tariff 101-A)

Item 540, Hazardous Materials

• Hazardous Materials including 100% Electric Vehicles and Plug-In Hybrid Vehicles will increase to $225 per booking
