TOTE Maritime Agency Puerto Rico is proud to have supported the celebration of the 2022 Enactus World Cup in the San Juan Convention District of Puerto Rico. This event was attended by over 3,000participants from 55 countries, including university students, academics, businessmen and government officials, while generating an economic impact of over 4 million dollars to the country's economy.
The team from Egypt, representing Ain Shams University, was proclaimed world champion with its Crawfish project; and the champion team from Puerto Rico from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus won 2 important awards with its RECO project, Repurposed Coffee.
This great event in which all the universities of the world that are part of the Enactus network participate, young university students defend their ventures within the framework of the 17 sustainability goals of the United Nations Organization. During the 3 days of competitions, the World Cup offered the space to present to leaders of business sectors how the next generations face the most difficult global challenges. The competition consisted of an initial round (33 teams), a semi-final round (16 teams) and the grand final (4 teams).
TOTE is also part of the Enactus Board of Directors and provide mentorship as part of its Intensive Summer Program for university students on the island and recognizes the importance of entrepreneurship for the island's future.
