ANCHORAGE, May 2, 2022 – TOTE Maritime Alaska, LLC (“TOTE” or “TOTE Maritime Alaska”), announced Art Dahlin as Vice President and Alaska General Manager, where he will oversee the company’s Alaska-based operations effective immediately. He succeeds Alex Hofeling, who was promoted to President of TOTE Maritime Alaska in November 2021.
As the Vice President and Alaska General Manager, Dahlin will be responsible for the execution of TOTE’s strategy and goals in the Alaska operations as well as strengthening partnerships in the industry and community. He will also be instrumental on a number of major initiatives for the organization, including the conversion of TOTE’s two ORCA-Class vessels to duel-fuel LNG technology, and the Port of Alaska Modernization Project.
Dahlin comes from TOTE’s sister company, Foss Maritime, where he served as General Manager since 2018. He brings 15 years of experience in maritime project management, strategic leadership, and business development.

Dahlin graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Logistics and Intermodal Transportation. He sailed for Kirby Inland Marine from 2007-2012 as Pilot and Relief Captain, and was hired in 2013 by Saltchuk Resources, the parent company of Foss and TOTE, as a Senior Financial Analyst.

Dahlin also holds an MBA from the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington in Seattle. He will be relocating to Alaska from Portland, Oregon with his wife and two sons this summer.
